Taryn spent 6 days in the hospital at the beginning of summer. She had an infection in her left leg, which required a small surgery. She had to have x-rays, an ultrasound, and an MRI before they did the surgery. She was a brave little girl for all that she had to endure. She also had to have her IV redone 4 times, because her little veins kept blowing. She wasn't her usual happy self. Taryn spent most of the week in her little "jail" crib. She couldn't walk around because her leg hurt, and she also had an IV in her foot. So she wasn't very content just to sit still. It took a lot of visitors and a lot of mommy's patience to keep her happy. We filled her crib with toys and did our best to entertain her. This all happened during the last week of school, so thanks to all of the family for helping to watch the boys while Drew was at work. The boys were able to visit Taryn in the hospital, but it isn't much fun to be in a small room with not much to do. So they had a lot of daddy time, while mom stayed with Taryn. The surgery went really well, and Taryn was running around before too long. She did have to take a really yucky antibiotic for a long time, but I'm sure that she has forgotten the whole experience by now.

Taryn found her tongue and now loves to stick it out!
