Yesterday was Quin's 2nd birthday, so we used it as a good excuse to take all the kids to Bonnie Springs. We used to go there when we were kids and we thought that the kids would enjoy it. The day was a lot of fun, but it sure did have a lot of interesting moments. We started off with a picnic, which was great until Teagan threw up everywhere! Then he had to go potty, which was his first time peeing behind a bush. Well, let's just say that his pants got a little wet! So, we all finished eating and had cupcakes, but it was too windy to light the candles. Then we had Quin open his presents. Because of the wind, he did this in the back of my parent's Yukon. The day did get better from there. We rode the train up to the petting zoo and the old western area. The kids had fun, but there were a lot of tears. The train was too noisy, the animals were too close, and I think that most of the kids were just plain tired. But overall, I think that all of the kids had fun. Maybe we'll try again when the kids are a little older!
This is where Teagan spent most of the picnic.

Quin liked to lick the frosting off of his cupcake before he ate it.
Quin opening his presents in the back on the Yukon because it was too windy outside! Notice Teagan's pants drying on the top of the car in the background!

Everyone is going to Bonnie Springs lately. I REALLY need to get it on my calendar! I love the picture of Teagan on the train :) Happy Birthday Quin!!!
ReplyDeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAY QUIN!! Oh man... that's a bummer! Well at least you got a lot of really REALLY cute pictures and some fun memories!
ReplyDeleteThat stinks! I am not a fan of all the wind. I am sure out there it was kicking up the dirt too.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I have ever been to Bonnie Springs. I should take my kids out there sometime. It is hard to go out with the kids, but if you can do it at 9 months pregnant I can do it too. You have motivated me to check it out.
It was a lot of fun. It's not very big, so you don't have to do a lot of walking. The kids liked the petting zoo, so that made it all worth it.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe all the little boys are turning 2! Didn't we just have their 1st b-day party??? Sheesh! Cute pics...I like the one of all the kids watching Quin open his presents. Haha. Sounds like a lot of fun memories :)
